Judicial Council to review GC2019 actions
EVANSTON, Ill. (UMNS) — Headline-making decisions by the legislative body of The United Methodist Church will be reviewed next month by the denomination's top court. The two items on the April 23-26 docket deal with constitutionality questions related to the Traditional Plan and an exit plan approved by GC2019. Linda Bloom reports.

Community outreach saves church from closing 

PINE HILL, N.J. — Memorial United Methodist Church was in danger of closing when a conversation between its pastor and district superintendent led to the church ending Sunday worship and moving it to Wednesday nights to coincide with its popular Soul Café Supper and Service, a weekly community meal. The decision was so effective that Soul Café now meets on Sunday nights at another church with a third location being planned for 2020. Denise Herschel reports.

Sowing seeds of love to feed the hungry

SPARTANBURG, S.C. — One pastor has taken up the call to feed the hungry through missions. The Rev. Darrell McNeill of Spartanburg Urban Mission has been involved with feeding programs since 2015. Now, thanks to a significant grant from the South Carolina Association for Community and Economic Development, the mission is partnering with Foodshare. Laura Camby McCaskill has the story.
